An oriental 20th century ovoid storage jar made from kilns in Southern China used for Global trade to store wine, vinegar, oil or condiments. It has a lovely browny black glaze and a sgraffito geometric decoration to one side. The other side has a 'Da' character (the translation meaning 'big') covered in a dark glaze. It has a circumference of 117cm at it's widest point and is approx. 45 cm high.
There are a few nicks and scratches as expected for this vintage pot (please see photos).
It would make a lovely indoor floor vase or would look equally striking as an outdoor garden ornament.
