This is a lovely and original pair of Thonet bentwood chairs. Each chair has art nouveau designs of flowers and leaves on both the chair seat and back rest. The back rests are curved and the chair has slightly splayed feet. The colour of the wood has a lovely two tone effect. The chairs are very sturdy and stable to sit on. On the underside of each chair they have the Thonet label with Made in Poland printed on them which dates them to between 1914 - 1922 when the factories had to relocate there and before Thonet merged with Kohn.
Thonet's production process was based on perfecting the bending of solid wood.
The quality of these chairs can be seen in that 100 years on they are still in a great condition with very few nicks or marks. Please see photos for signs of wear and tear.
