A beautiful rare creamy white vintage pendant lamp shade made from capiz shell - a thin translucent shell found in the Indo-Pacific. Each section of the shade has been made into the shape of a lotus flower, the shell's first encased in a silver metal frame, and then each lotus flower fitted together to make this spherical shaped lamp shade. One of the lotus flowers is on hinges and opens up to give you easy access to the light bulb for replacement when necessary (see photos 7 & 8). As it is a light shade it is easy to hang onto any pendant light fitting, no electrician required.
At approximately 60 cm in diameter, this is definitely a statement light shade and would be a stylish addition to any room you wish to place it in.
It has been well cared for and has just a couple of shells that are coming away from the metal case (see photo 10).
