A mid century 1960s chest of 5 drawers in teak by the little known British company Castle. A lot of attention to detail has been considered in the design of this chest of drawers. The teak at the front of the drawers has a lovely ombre shading to it, starting from a darker teak for the 3 bottom drawers blending to a lighter teak for the top 2 drawers. The top of the chest of drawers also has a lighter teak horizontal stripe down the middle (see photo 5). The craftsmanship and quality of this piece of furniture is shown in the wood used externally and also internally for the drawers and the dovetail joints. The chest is supported by elegant tapering legs and the 8 circular wooden and 2 brass handles really add style to this quality chest of drawers.

There are a few minor surface scratches on top of the chest of drawers - visible in bright light and a small piece of veneer is missing from the top outer strip at the back (see photo 5).
