A wonderful solid elm and beech Ercol coffee table/TV unit. As expected from Ercol there is such attention to detail in this lovely Windsor Minerva coffee table designed in the 1980's. The table top has curved edges and the grain of the elm is really on show here. One side and part of the back of the table have lovely 'cut out' sections on them which look stylish and are practical in that books, magazines etc can be seen and reached easily from which ever side you are seated round it. It has two solid wood drawers with lovely curved recessed drawer handles, really handy for hiding things away in. The table sits upon 4 shepherd castors, making it easy to manoeuvre. The colour is Ercol's Golden Dawn. Although designed as a coffee table this would make a really useful TV unit being 125 cm wide and 53 cm deep, and the castors allow the unit to be moved easily into different directions. (Ercol still produce TV units retailing at over £2,000.)
This coffee table has been well cared for and is in a good vintage condition with just a few pale coloured marks and a few nicks and surface scratches on the table top (please see photos) but they do not deter from this wonderfully designed piece of furniture.
